The Afternoon Adventures Program presents a safe and fun environment where children can continue learning beyond the school day. Students get to dive into topics they love or explore new interests.

Enrichment Program Leaders will organize students, present brief demonstrations and challenging activities; while creating and maintaining a positive experience. Enthusiasm and respect for children is a must. You will assist in enhancing existing program content, activities, and develop new activities that enhance the curriculum. Your knowledge and passion are what will make you a great program leader. Your ability to identify and adapt to the needs of students are what will make your programs great.

The Details

  • Topics of interest include: basic tumbling and entry level gymnastics, sports, computer code and making video games, robotics, art, animation and digital media
  • Pursuing a degree and/or having experience in these fields are a bonus but not a requirement
  • Afternoon Adventures Enrichment programs run Monday through Friday
  • Program times are 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Enrichment Program Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school degree or equivalent education
  • Submit to various background checks
  • Experience with Elementary to Middle School aged children
  • Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom Possess a strong work ethic
  • Punctual
  • Good communicator (able to handle professional discussions about performance and implement suggestions for improvements)
  • Be available to work as late as 6:30 pm
  • Have dependable transportation

  • Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times
  • Be a positive role model for all caregiving staff and children

  • Be customer service orientated and professional
  • Provide excellent customer service to parents and students
  • Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom Possess a strong work ethic

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Including, but not limited to, the following

  • Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
  • Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
  • Facilitate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for school age children
  • Maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service
  • Manage a large group of children utilizing appropriate classroom management techniques Attend and engage in occasional training sessions and meetings
  • Serve snacks to members and assist in clean up afterwards
  • Interact with parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren)
  • Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Salary: $10.00 /hour
